The RN Wound/Enterostomy is responsible for implementing and evaluating total patient care activities, focusing on acute and chronic wound care, enterostomy care, and hyperbaric treatments. The role includes educating patients and caretakers on various care techniques and protocols.
Candidates must have an Associate's Degree in Nursing and at least 2 years of nursing experience. An IL or MI Registered Nurse License is required, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
The RN Wound/Enterostomy implements and evaluates the activities for total patient care, following outlined protocols, in the delivery of acute and chronic wound care, enterostomy care, and hyperbaric treatments. Will demonstrate competency in and be responsible for treating various types of patients seen including critically ill and chronically ill patients, ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric. Performs various educational activities, including infection control, aseptic dressing technique, and preventive care. Educates patient, significant other and/or caretaker, including a return demonstration within the Medical Center and community. Area of focus may be inpatient or outpatient.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree Experience: Experience with Hyperbarics Licensure/Certification: Wound Care certification or Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse, ACLS certification OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
