The role involves performing various direct patient care procedures to support unit managers, professional staff, and physicians, focusing on meeting the patient's comfort, hygiene, and technical needs. Responsibilities include assisting with testing, setting up IVs, performing basic care like suctioning and dressing changes, and ensuring effective communication and documentation.
Candidates are generally required to have less than one year of job-related experience, though 1-2 years is preferred, and must possess a Certified Nurse Assistant certification along with BLS certification from the AHA. A Nursing Assistant Program completion resulting in placement on the Illinois Nurse Aide Registry, or equivalent clinical education, is mandatory.
