The specialist will be responsible for processing medical records requests in compliance with HIPAA, verifying authorizations, tracking all Release of Information (ROI) activities, and managing incoming faxes. Key duties also include retrieving records for authorized personnel, closing records, scanning/indexing documents into the EHR, and maintaining confidentiality.
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with a minimum of two years of experience in medical records management within a healthcare setting and two years of EMR experience. Experience supporting chart audits and regulatory reviews is strongly preferred, as is accuracy in data entry.
