The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process, collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, and administers prescribed treatments and medications according to standards of care and state laws. Responsibilities also include developing individualized patient care plans, documenting according to standards, and participating in unit performance improvement activities.
This position will support Cardiac Cath Lab at the Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center. The RN for Cardiac Cath Lab will provide care before, during, and after heart procedures. They will be skilled in monitoring patients, assisting with procedures, and responding to emergencies and will works well with team members to ensure patient safety and quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule: 40 hours per week

· Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
· Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.
· Performs assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation of care.
· Documents according to standards of care.
· Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and-or clinic policy including patient and family instruction.
· Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.
· Utilizes clinical expertise and guidance to other units and-or departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
· Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command.
· Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions and peer review process.
· Offers ideas and-or solutions to practice issues.
· Uses innovative methods and intuitive skills to develop and implement plans of care.
· Provides innovative ways to educate patient-families
· Initiates interdisciplinary collaboration to meet the patient/family educational needs.
· Actively participates in mentoring and precepting new partners to the organization.
· Positively influences the professional and organizational environments and shared governance.
· Engages in personal development and supports system-entity opportunities for continuous learning and growth including developing or revising evidence-based practice guidelines.
· Actively participates in a minimum of 1 departmental or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.
Education and experience: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Certification and licensure: Licensed as an RN in state of practice
Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days
Other certification(s) per unit requirements. For example: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and NRP
