The CNA/Care Giver is responsible for supervising or assisting residents with personal care services, including ADLs and IADLs, as outlined in their service plan and assigned by the nurse. Key duties involve immediate reporting of resident changes, adherence to resident rights, and providing support with daily tasks like grooming, mobility, and dining assistance.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and hold a valid, unrestricted certification as a CNA/CHHIA/Caregiver in the state of employment, maintaining required continuing education units. Competency must be demonstrated in vital signs and ADLs/IADLs, and the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English is mandatory.
Supervise or assist residents with personal care service, which include activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living as identified in the resident service plan and assigned by the nurse.
Demonstrate a courteous, polite, and friendly attitude with residents, families, and visitors. Respond to the needs of residents, families and visitors by providing immediate assistance. Assist in maintaining contact with residents who are not involved in activities due to illness or injury. Function as a leader of the resident care team, assisting co-workers as needed.

Use proper body mechanics when bending or lifting. Know the community's disaster and fire safety policies and procedures, including the location and contact use of the fire alarm system. Follow the designated plan of action in the event of a fire or other emergency. Know and follow the community's infection prevention policies and procedures.
Performance Requirements: To meet the work performance expectations in a satisfactory manner, the employee must:
High school diploma or (GED) Must have valid, unrestricted certification in the state of employment. (CNA/CHHIA/CAREGIVER) and maintain CEU's. Must demonstrate competency in the following areas: Vital signs ADL's/IADL's Read, write, speak, and understand the English language. CPR/First Aid Certification preferred (unless required by the state) Food handlers permit.
Must have the strength and endurance required for standing, walling, lifting, bending and pushing. Works beyond normal business hours, weekends, holidays, and severe weather situations when necessary. Is subject to potential exposure to infectious~ waste, disease, and conditions etc., including TB, HIV, and Hepatitis B.
Two-week notice is required.
