Helen Porter Rehabilitation & Nursing is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Memory Care Unit on a part-time day shift schedule. This is an ideal opportunity for experienced nurses, semi-retired nurses, parents returning to the workforce, or healthcare professionals looking to supplement their current schedule while making a meaningful impact in the lives of older adults.

Unit: Memory Care

What you'll do

As a nurse on our Memory Care Unit, you will

  • Provide skilled nursing care to residents living with memory loss and cognitive impairment
  • Assess, monitor, and document resident conditions
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
  • Support resident safety, comfort, and quality of life
  • Collaborate with nursing assistants, providers, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Communicate effectively with families and care team members
  • Promote a calm, supportive, resident-centered environment
  • Advocate for residents while maintaining dignity and respect in every interaction

Qualifications

  • Rn candidates
  • Current Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for Vermont licensure
  • Lpn candidates
  • Current Vermont Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or eligibility for Vermont licensure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in memory care, long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, rehabilitation, geriatrics, or acute care
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
