The nurse assumes 24-hour accountability to plan and provide direct professional nursing care for specified patients throughout the entire service delivery episode, adhering to professional standards and regulations. This role specifically involves providing comprehensive, safe, and effective care during the transportation of critically ill infants and children.
Candidates must possess a minimum of an ASN/ADN with a BSN required within three years, along with current Connecticut RN licensure or NLC, and required certifications including BLS, PALS, ACLS, ENPC, and TNCC within specified timeframes. Preferred experience includes a minimum of three years in a critical care nursing environment such as ED, PICU, NICU, ICU, or CICU.
Under general supervision, assumes 24-hour accountability to plan and provide direct professional nursing care for specified patients throughout the entire episode of service delivery as defined by population and unit. Provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the standards of practice of a professional nurse, CT Children’s policies & procedures, TJC, and State & federal regulations. Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective care during the transportation of critically ill infants and children.
