Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse in an inpatient/hospital unit, the assistant performs routine direct patient care, environmental support, and administrative tasks to ensure patient health, safety, and comfort. All activities must adhere strictly to CCMC and unit policies and procedures.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, though completion or enrollment in a CNA, Medical Assistant, or EMT program is strongly preferred, as is one year of pediatric PCA experience. Candidates must obtain BLS/CPR certification within two weeks of hire and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training within three months.

MS8 is a team oriented, fast paced, 27 bed, inpatient floor. Our team works closely with multiple specialty areas to provide compassionate care, innovative treatment options, and novel clinical therapies to children and young adults affected by cancer and blood disorders. Our staff are provided a strong foundation for caring for this population by offering both Hem/Onc Foundations classes and Chemotherapy/Biotherapy classes. We value continuity of care and build strong relationships with our patients and their families.
