The Respite Direct Support Professional offers temporary care and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities at a corporate site, focusing on promoting their independence, dignity, and quality of life. Responsibilities include providing a therapeutic environment, encouraging participation in activities, monitoring personal needs, and implementing service plans.
Staff must maintain high confidentiality and ensure a safe, clean environment while providing empathic support to encourage creativity and learning. Essential functions involve monitoring behaviors, documenting progress according to protocols, and effectively communicating with team members and caregivers.
The Respite DSP provides temporary care and supervision to individuals with developmental disabilities, allowing their primary caregivers (usually family members) time away from caregiving responsibilities. Services are provided at a Community Living Corporation operated site. This position supports and promotes independence dignity and quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It is also expected that staff will maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding individual matters and keeping a safe, comfortable and clean environment for individuals.
