General Summary Of Duties
Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical setting that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards.
Communicates with physicians and team members about changes in patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomology.
Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.

Education, Training and Experience
Graduate of an accredited LPN program. Current LPN licensure in the State of Georgia. Current BLS certification. Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year work experience or completion of accredited LPN program. Successful completion of arrhythmia course.

Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Essential Job Duties

Provides direct patient care under supervision of a RN, evaluates outcomes, consults with other healthcare team members as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.

Will administer medications via all routes (IM, Subcu, IV, PO, Rectally, Topically, Intradermally and Inhalation).

Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family.

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age appropriate care to the patients served.
