Provide safe and nurturing care to childbearing women, newborns, and gynecologic or surgical patients. Assess physical and emotional needs to develop and implement effective care plans while supervising others in their execution.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to the appropriate age of the patient. To provide care to childbearing women and their newborns as well as to selected other gynecologic and clean surgical patients in a safe and nurturing environment and with consideration given to age and developmental level. The RN must use their knowledge to assess the physical and emotional needs of the patient/family and develop a plan of care that incorporates these principals. The RN must have the ability to implement the plan, and to supervise others with the implementation and assess its effectiveness.
Registered nurse license required.
BLS within months of hire required.
NRP within 3 months of hire required.
