This role involves following established nursing processes, including assessment, triage, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation, while ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and standards.
Candidates must be a graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program and possess a State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse license or pending licensure, or current RN licensure from a compact state. No previous experience is required, though preferred qualifications include experience with immunization clinics, DOT evaluations, spirometry, and administering vaccinations.

The Center for Occupational Environmental Health Promotion, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking a Staff RN to work in an outpatient clinic setting providing professional nursing services and patient care. This position will follow established nursing processes, including patient assessment, triage, nursing-level diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The incumbent will ensure adherence to Hospital, Department, and University policies and nursing procedures, standards, and practices. The Department of Internal Medicine is a large, progressive department with a diverse staff working in dedicated teams to provide quality work in an organized, effective, and efficient manner through innovation, training, and education. CPR Certification must be obtained within 2 weeks of date of hire. Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. IV Certification within 6 months of hire may be required for some positions in this classification, depending on the individual needs of the department Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program; no previous experience required. Certification/Licensure State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the multistate privilege to practice compact with New Mexico. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Experience performing off-site immunization and TST clinics Performing nursing services for US DOT/ FMCSA evaluations (including vision exams, UAs, audiology, etc) Experience performing spirometry exams Experience determining immune status for infectious diseases Administering vaccinations: MMR, Tdap, Hep B, Varicella, Influenza (and others on a case-by-case basis); and placing/reading TB skin tests Experience treating patients with body fluid exposures/needlesticks from high-risk donors Experience with workers' compensation and/or job-related injuries Bilingual - Fluent in English and Spanish Additional Requirements Campus Health Sciences Center (HSC) - Albuquerque, NM Department IM COEHP (852F) Employment Type Staff Staff Type Regular - Full-Time Term End Date Status Non-Exempt Pay Hourly: $24.44 - $34.33 Benefits Eligible This is a benefits eligible position.
