About the role

The technologist is responsible for producing cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues using CT scanning equipment for diagnostic purposes. This involves interpreting physician instructions, preparing and operating the scanner, positioning patients, and ensuring technical quality of the scans.

Responsible for producing cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. Interprets a physician's scanning instructions, administering contrast materials, preparing and operating the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.

Principal Accountabilities

1.

Interprets CT Protocols and correctly positions the patient for the exam.

2.

Operates CT scanner equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation standards (ALARA).

3.

Evaluates CT scans for technical quality.

4.

Utilizes EPIC, Radiant, and PACS to schedule and transmit images to the Radiologist for interpretation.

5.

Prepares and administers contrast material using the power injector.

6.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required qualifications include graduation from an accredited radiology program, registration with the ARRT, an Associate's degree in Diagnostic Radiology, and a State license in Diagnostic Technology. CT Certification is preferred.
