Sylva Valley Health & Rehab is hiring an Activity Assistant who is outgoing, dependable, and loves working with people. You’ll help bring energy to our building by assisting with group activities, 1:1 visits, and special events that improve residents’ quality of life. This is a great role for someone with a big personality, strong empathy, and a heart for seniors.
Competitive pay (based on experience) Supportive team environment and training provided Vacation time + Sick time (per eligibility) Opportunity to grow into Activity Director or other leadership roles What you’ll do Assist with daily activities (games, music, crafts, exercise groups, socials) Provide 1:1 visits and encourage residents to participate Help create and post activity calendars, flyers, and event announcements Support special events, holidays, parties, and community involvement Assist with transporting residents to/from activities (as allowed) Help track participation and complete required documentation/logs Collaborate with nursing/therapy/social services to meet resident needs Maintain a positive, respectful, resident-centered environment What we’re looking for Outgoing, friendly, and patient Reliable attendance and teamwork Comfortable speaking to groups and leading simple activities Creative, organized, and able to multitask Experience in activities, childcare, hospitality, or healthcare is a plus (not required) Basic computer skills preferred (printing calendars, simple documentation)
