This role involves coordinating patient care and assisting surgeons with post-operative management, including admissions and discharges for orthopedic patients, while also serving as a First or Second Assist in the operating room as needed. The provider will also participate in daily and monthly weekend rounding and call responsibilities.
HealthPartners is seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with PEDIATRIC experience to join our collegial practice providing trauma/inpatient orthopedic care primarily at our practices based at Children’s Minneapolis and Abbott Northwestern Hospitals.
This position will coordinate patient care and assist our surgeons in directing post operative care for our orthopedic patients including admissions and discharges.
Additionally, this individual will assist in the operating room as First or Second Assist as needed including preparing grafts, closing incisions.
Daily rounding with monthly weekend rounding and/or call responsibilities as assigned.
This position is part of a very collegial and supportive team including advanced practice providers, orthopedic surgeons and fellows.
In addition to the clinical aspects of this position, this individual will be part of the development and growth of this program by building rapport with the established pediatric and pediatric sub specialty teams at Children’s.
Certified and licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Must be certified to see both pediatric and adult patients Ability to First and Second assist including closing wounds, preparing graphs, ect. Ability to apply and remove casts and splints Must be able to work flexible hours.
1-2 years’ experience in orthopedic surgery and clinic environment including First Assisting and seeing patients independently. Pediatric experience/training is highly preferred along with interest in helping build a pediatric orthopedic trauma program.
