  • Summary: Performs a variety of MRI tests for patients of all ages. Applies principles, theories, and techniques of magnetic resonance scanning to provide reliable test results. Ability to work with patients of all age groups (children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric). Job Results & Essential Function Professional Responsibilities ? Reports any problems to service engineer when preventive maintenance is scheduled ? Helps maintain monthly statistics ? Maintains adequate supplies ? Prepares patient for I.V. injections ? Performs routine procedures done on the PACS ? Positions, transfers and properly immobilize patients as required. ? Performs screening procedures on all patients before entering the scan room. ? Includes screening for any metal objects/previous work with metal and surgeries that impact scan ? Performs daily quality control on the MRI unit ? Performs MRI scanning procedures to include instructing patients and selecting techniques ? Performs filming, reconstruction of proper images, posts processing of MRA images ? Maintains professional skills and provides age-specific care to patients of all ages (children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics). ? Follows safety procedures and guidelines and reports unsafe practices and conditions. ? Consistently and appropriately follows Universal Precautions ? Critiques images ? Keeps updated on MRI developments through professional journals, on the job training, and other educational opportunities ? Assists in performing first aid, CPR, and AED ? Participates in peer competencies Delivery of High-Quality Clinical Outcomes ? Applies evidence-based healthcare practices ? Complies with policies and procedures. ? Ensures compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements. ? Supports a culture of safety and quality patient care Effective Collaboration that Helps Achieve Organizational Goals ? Participates in department and/or system-wide team dynamic initiatives. ? Assists with developing priorities, goals, and action plans ? Communicates effectively to optimize patient care, expresses positive customer relations, and contributes to a supportive and cooperative working environment. ? Customer Focus-Demonstrates concern for meeting or exceeding internal and external customers' expectations/requirements in a manner that provides satisfaction for the customer. ? Acts as a team player and works collaboratively within the team and organization. ? Identifies better, faster, more efficient ways of doing tasks as well as eliminates unnecessary work and all non-value-added activities to enable a focus on work that generates greater value. ? Responds to requests from the Manager of Outpatient Services, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to assist with the evaluation of programs and services. Communicates with Clinical Supervisor regarding cost savings initiatives and planning. Other Responsibilities All other responsibilities as assigned in accordance with qualifications.

Requirements

Education & Experience ARRT Board Certification in Radiology Licenses and/or Certifications 5 years of MRI experience and ARRT certification in MRI is preferred Physical Demands Ability to move or transfer patients with an individual effort equal to 50 lbs. Should have a full range of body motion to successfully perform all essential functions of the job, meaning you’ll have to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach frequently during a 12-hour shift. Language Ability Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific/trade/technical journals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, or regulatory agencies. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, patients, and vendors. Math Ability Basic math skills and competency in creating figures such as proportions, percentages, rates, and/or ratios Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. In addition to interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Working Conditions Potential for exposure to chemicals, communicable diseases, and related medical waste.
