About the role

Provide optimal patient care by assisting with advanced imaging, neurosurgery, and inpatient care for neurologic patients. Responsibilities include managing general anesthesia and conducting client education and technician appointments.

Description Partner Veterinary is looking for Neurology Licensed Veterinary Technicians to join our Richmond, VA Neurology team!

  • What does your day look like with Partner Neurology?

The Neurology Veterinary Technician’s emphasis is on providing optimal patient care. You will practice routine and advanced technical skills with daily support from other technicians, specialty DVMs, and a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Neurology.

The LVTs in the neurology department are integral to assisting with procedures including advanced imaging (MRI & CT), spinal taps, neurosurgery, and inpatient care.

This frequently involves general anesthesia for stable and unstable neurologic patients.

Anesthesia experience is highly preferred.

You will also have the opportunity to learn and master advanced skills such as epidural injections, urinary and arterial catheter placement, and assisting with surgery.

Additionally, LVTs are integral to client education and may see patients directly for technician appointments when appropriate.

Requirements

Minimum 1-year veterinary technician experience Veterinary specialty experience is preferred, but not required Experience with general anesthesia and medical math is highly preferred, or a strong commitment to learning anesthesia Graduate of accredited veterinary technology program; veterinary technician “in good standing” so applicant is or eligible to transfer registration to Virginia Strong communication skills with clients and teammates; ability to collaborate with the teams across the Partner network A curious and motivated energy Physical Requirements (ability to) Quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay, so as to ensure the safety of team members and patients Stand for up to 12 hours with limited breaks Lift up to 40 lbs without assistance Our core values: Reimagining Empower Community Care About us:
