The Women's Health Nurse Practitioner will diagnose and treat various illnesses, prescribe medications, and perform comprehensive physical examinations. They will also develop patient management policies and facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals.
Physicians & Midwives (P&M) of Advantia is seeking a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with solid gyn experience and antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum experience that includes patients with varying medical conditions.

Job Responsibilities: Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses.
Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments.
Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients.
Develops and implements patient management policies and procedures.
Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities.
Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care.
Master of Science degree with completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care is required. DEA and CDS eligible. 3+ years’ experience as a NP preferred. Nurse practitioner license in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. preferred. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. preferred. About The Physician and Midwife Collaborative Practice: Physicians and Midwives is a unique collaborative practice you will not find anywhere else. We have 5 offices across Northern Virginia in Alexandria, Arlington, and Woodbridge. The team consists of board-certified obstetrician/gynecologists, certified nurse midwives, and certified nurse practitioners. The practice was born out of the notion that as medicine and technology advances, care should still be the foundation of providing medical care to women. All deliveries are handled at INOVA Alexandria Hospital.
