The primary duties involve surgical scheduling, obtaining necessary authorizations, professional phone handling, and accurate post-operative data entry. Additionally, the role provides administrative support, including departmental filing, managing patient applications, and serving as a liaison between various parties.
A minimum requirement is a high school diploma or GED, coupled with 2-3 years of experience in a medical office setting, including prior experience with insurance verification and scheduling. Essential knowledge includes medical terminology, healthcare billing, authorization processes, and familiarity with HIPAA confidentiality rules.

This position requires periods of extensive sitting and phone work. It also requires other repetitive motions (e.g., bending, stooping, twisting, walking, standing, reaching overhead, pushing or pulling). Manual dexterity is required, as is the ability to concentrate on detail amid other activity. Lifting a maximum of 20 pounds.
