About the role

The PSR Generalist provides direct rehabilitative and clinical services to adults with mental health challenges within a clubhouse setting, focusing on employment, social skills, education, and recovery. Responsibilities include coordinating transitional employment placements, providing job coaching, engaging members throughout the work-ordered day, and completing necessary documentation.

The PSR Generalist serves as a member of the Clubhouse team. Clubhouse is a psychosocial program designed for rehabilitating adults diagnosed with a behavioral health challenge. Objectives of the program include job support, education, meaningful relationships, housing support, and an overall improved quality of life.

Compensation Range

The starting pay for this position is $15.94 - $18.75 hourly rate, and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience.

Provide direct rehabilitative and clinical services to adult mental health individuals within a clubhouse setting in alignment with the International Standards for Clubhouse Programs.

Create a vibrant and conducive psychosocial rehabilitative setting to achieve optimal opportunities in obtaining employment, building social skills, enhancing educational opportunities and continuing their recovery process.

Assists with special projects as assigned

Provides supportive, educational, and social recreational services

Develops jobs and coordinates Transitional Employment Placements.

Participates in community relations activities via local Chambers of Commerce

Provides members with job coaching and job search assistance

Assists members with resume writing

Works side by side engaging members throughout the work ordered day

Assists members with completing DHS and Secretary of State Paperwork

SIP Coordination

Provides onsite crisis intervention and case management.

Participates and promotes departmental and agency quality improvement initiatives

Participates in program in-service education and community education.

Participates in activity planning and coordination.

Completes case notes in the appropriate format and submit to HIS (medical records) within prescribed time limits.

Provides transportation services to members.

Utilize motivational interview strategies and a trauma-informed approach to engage with and provide service to individuals.

Meet direct service productivity and documentation standards per agency and program expectations.

Travel off-site as needed for various opportunities including meetings, conferences, activities, and events.

Ensure that the CNS Healthcare standards of service are applied to interactions with individuals served, guests, and staff.

Participate in and promote departmental and agency quality improvement initiatives.

Assume responsibility for professional growth by current reading and attendance at educational programs and conferences.

Maintain knowledge and compliance with established policies and procedures, corporate compliance program, code of ethics, applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, HIPAA standards, and other regulatory programs.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of principles of psychosocial rehabilitation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and courteously
  • Ability to use discretion and judgment when handling matters of a sensitive or confidential nature
  • Time management, problem solving, customer service, interpersonal, conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
  • Intermediate presentation, facilitation, collaboration and team working skills.
  • Ability to be forward thinking and take initiative to accomplish goals and objectives of the department
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries
  • Intermediate level experience with computers and Microsoft office products
  • Ability to contribute to an inclusive environment that recognizes the value and contributions of all persons regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability
  • Valid Michigan Driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Transportation or automobile accessibility with current auto insurance.
  • Preferred
  • Prior experience in working with adults with serious mental illness
  • Basic understanding of Michigan Mental Health Code and Recipient Rights.
  • Progress or completion of a college degree in a human/social services field of study

Requirements

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, a basic understanding of psychosocial rehabilitation principles, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates must also possess a valid Michigan Driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to use basic computer applications.
