Position Summary

UBMD Neurology’s Alzheimer Center is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient care and clinical support in an outpatient setting. This role assists individuals with neurological and cognitive conditions by delivering hands-on nursing care, coordinating treatment plans, and supporting patients and families through education and clear communication.

The RN plays a key role in ensuring efficient clinic operations while promoting high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key responsibilities

  • Clinical care & patient support
  • Triage patient concerns and support follow-up on testing, referrals, and care needs
  • Provide patient and family education on treatment plans and neurological conditions
  • Support high-risk patients through coordinated care and ongoing communication

PROCEDURES & TREATMENT COORDINATION • Perform clinical procedures including

  • IV insertion and removal
  • Venipuncture
  • Monitoring for adverse reactions
  • Medication documentation
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and ensure proper handling

  • Clinic operations & documentation
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Assist with patient flow and support efficient outpatient clinic operations
  • Monitor medical supplies and ensure emergency equipment is functioning properly

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program
  • Current New York State RN license required
  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience (outpatient experience preferred)
  • Strong communication, clinical assessment, and patient support skills
