Medication Aides assist in administering medications and treatments to residents under the direction of physicians and nursing staff, following facility policies and procedures. Responsibilities include accurate preparation, administration, and documentation of various medication routes, as well as monitoring and reporting resident clinical issues.
Candidates must possess an active certification in the state to practice as a Medication Aide (MA-C) and must be able to interact tactfully with personnel, residents, and the public. The role requires the ability to accurately relate information concerning a resident’s condition and to provide certification documentation upon application.
Medication Aides assists in the administering of medications and treatments to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of the attending physician, the nurse supervisor or charge nurse, and the Director of Nursing.
Pay ranges from $22.00 - $26.00 an hour depending on licensure and experience, PLUS On top of those great base rates we offer additional shift differentials for evening and weekend shifts!!
Must have a MA-C certification to function as a medication aide in a nursing home.
