The Speech-Language Therapist develops and administers treatment programs for patients with communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders to maximize their function and independence. This involves performing evaluations, establishing collaborative treatment plans with patients and families, and maintaining accurate patient care records.
Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology and be licensed to practice in the State of Michigan, along with holding current CPR certification. Preferred qualification includes holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA, and the role requires physical capability to perform patient care treatments safely.
Education: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Skills: Must possess skills consistent with the needs of the department. Years of Experience: N/A License: Licensed in the State of Michigan to practice Speech-Language Pathology Certification: CPR certification according to hospital policy.
License: Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Physical Requirements: The majority of time spent sitting, standing, and performing patient care treatments. Must possess the physical ability and condition to walk through the clinic or hospital and handle patients correctly and safely. Be able to handle standard equipment that is in a speech therapy department.
