  • Summary: Our Respiratory Therapists demonstrate patient care second to none through providing therapeutic techniques with a companionate and individualized approach. Our Respiratory Therapists provide care to patients who experience obstacles breathing and collaborate with our team of medical professionals to ensure all of our patients’ needs are met, aiming to improve their lung functions and establish a sense of comfort. The Respiratory Therapist must be a team player who has superb communication skills in order to share complex information with patients and collaborate with Physicians.

Duties

  • Provides Respiratory Therapy treatment to all patients as directed in accordance with best practices and department standards
  • Interviews and examines patients with breathing related disorders
  • Records patient treatment, response, and progress
  • Inspects, tests, maintains, and operates respiratory therapy equipment
  • Performs chest examinations as needed
  • Consult with physicians to develop patient treatment plans
  • Monitor and record patients' progress
  • Provides guidance and education to all staff members and patients regarding respiratory care
  • Ability to succeed in situations under pressure while maintaining patience, tact and endurance

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • Graduate of an accredited School for Respiratory Therapy
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the state of Michigan
  • Must have BLS, ACLS & PALS certifications or obtain certification within 90 days of employment
  • Ability to perform Respiratory Therapy procedures independently and have superior problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively educate others
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Detail-oriented, conscientious and committed to precision in work results
  • Ability to relate to and work effectively with a wonderfully diverse populace
  • Ability to multitask and move between responsibilities in fluid manner
  • Ability to independently problem-solve
  • Committed to contributing to a positive environment, even in rapidly changing circumstances.

Physical Requirements

  • Tolerate exposure to infectious diseases
  • Must be able to help assist patients in any capacity
  • Must be able to push workstations
  • Must be able to move around the hospital in an efficient manner
  • Must be able to physical activity such as chest compressions, push equipment from one are to another efficiently, and carry supplies when and where needed.
