The Patient Care Technician performs various direct patient care activities and clerical/receptionist services under the direction of licensed personnel, requiring flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities include collecting patient data, reporting changes to licensed staff, delivering assigned direct care, and assisting with clerical support like answering phones and stocking supplies.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and obtain CPR certification before performing direct care, although training is provided. Required skills include basic math, literacy, effective communication, the ability to follow verbal instructions, and computer proficiency for EMR documentation.
A Patient Care Tech (PCT), under the direction of licensed personnel, performs various patient care activities necessary in caring for a patient or a group of patients and performs clerical/receptionist services as required responsible for working a combination of nights, weekends, and holidays. The PCT will assist nursing/medical personnel in all areas while complying with established policies, procedures, and standards of practice in conjunction with all members of the healthcare team. Understands level of independent practice and performs specific duties with appropriate supervision. Demonstrates professionalism and understands/abides by Insight’s mission, vision and values in all interactions with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have CPR certification prior to performing direct care; training provided.
Years of Experience: Previous experience in a medical setting.
Certification: Cna, stna, ma, ekg, cpt, arrt
