The Research Tech will primarily obtain and prepare specimens for analysis, including collecting blood via venipuncture for clinical protocols, and performing various screening tests. Duties also involve maintaining laboratory documentation, ensuring sanitary work environments, and adhering strictly to regulatory compliance standards.
Candidates must have a minimum of a High School diploma or GED, with Phlebotomist certification being preferred, alongside experience with vital checks and EKG. Effective verbal and written communication skills are mandatory for interacting with patients and the research team in a fast-paced setting.
Monday - Friday (7 am - 3 pm)
$20.00 - 21.00/hr (depending on education, experience, and skillset)
A Research Tech will obtain and prepare specimens for analysis and perform various screening tests.
· Have full knowledge of laboratory procedures and processes per protocol.
· Collects blood by drawing from patients for clinical protocols, procedures, or diagnoses. May also collect other specimens, such as urine, sputum, or throat swabs.
· Prepares samples for testing and storage, and labels them for analysis.
· Verifies the patient's records, enters data into the system, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis.
· Prepares, maintains, and disposes of medical instruments, such as needles, test tubes, blood vials, and study supplies for visits. Also responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.
· Explains procedures to patients to help them feel more comfortable and help patients remain calm.
· May conduct intake interviews, take vital signs, and perform clerical work.
· Assist in the creation of laboratory documents (harvest logs, etc.)
· Pack and properly label all study materials for storage or return to sponsor upon study close out.
· Complies with regulation and protocols, attends meetings, trainings, and works cooperatively with research team and co-workers.
· Supports and ensures strictest adherence to best practices, FDA Code of Federal Regulations, ICH (International Conference on Harmonization), GCP (Good Clinical Practices), CenExel standard operation procedures, site working Practices, protocol and company guidelines and policies.
