Medical Secretary

Primary Responsibilities/Requirements

• Check out patients and schedule return appointments
• Schedule PT or other various procedures/tests
• Schedule surgeries
• Verifying and precert insurances for surgery and other procedures/tests
• Complete Work Restriction forms
• Assist with calling patients to exam room
• Assist with general nursing duties (ie: suture removal, dressing changes)
• Assist with patient questions
• Assist with telephone calls
• Assist other team members as needed

Must also possess

• HS/GED required
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadline
• Outstanding organizational, verbal and writing skills
• Independent and highly motivated
• Initiative and self-discipline
• Proven positive, "teamwork" attitude in work history

Physical Demands

• Must be able to use arms, hands, and fingers skillfully
• Constant sitting or standing for long periods of time
• Must be agile and able to work efficiently in space limited areas
• Consistently work at a productive pace
• Must readily adapt to frequent treatment schedule changes
