The Certified Anesthetist administers anesthesia and sedation to patients under the medical direction of a physician anesthesiologist, covering preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. Responsibilities span across inpatient operating rooms, outpatient settings, ASC, GI Lab, EP/Cath Lab, radiology, recovery rooms, critical care, and the emergency department.
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in Anesthesia or be a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited program, along with Georgia licensure and CAA or CRNA certification. Essential qualifications include current BLS and ACLS certifications, excellent critical thinking, patient satisfaction, communication skills, and the ability to make independent decisions.

Administers anesthesia and sedation to patients under the medical direction of a physician anesthesiologist (“Anesthesiologist”). Responsible for pre-anesthetic evaluation, intraoperative management, and post anesthetic evaluation of surgical patients and patients for other procedures. Encompasses all areas where anesthesia is administered to include: inpatient operating rooms, outpatient, ASC, GI Lab, EP/Cath Lab, radiology, post-anesthesia recovery rooms, critical care and emergency department.
Master’s degree in Anesthesia or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited AA/CRNA educational program and Georgia licensure. Certified as CAA or CRNA. Maintenance of ongoing biannual certification through the submission of continuing medical education CME’s. BLS and ACLS certification required (employer provides regular renewal opportunities).
PSA and ESJH are located in the highly desired northern perimeter of Atlanta at the junction of I-285 and Georgia-400. The campus is easily accessible by car or by rapid transit (MARTA train station connects directly with ESJH).
