The Direct Support Professional will support the goals of the person served, aiding in community integration across areas like mobility, daily living activities, communication, and health management. Responsibilities include ensuring 24/7 safety, fostering trusting relationships, assisting with daily living tasks, and supporting community participation and vocational goals.
Candidates must possess a strong desire to help others with empathy, patience, and dedication, exhibiting trustworthiness and professionalism in all interactions. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma/GED, a valid State of Michigan driver's license, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and commitment to scheduled shifts.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports the individual goals of the person served and helps them become integrated into his/ her community in the least restrictive manner. The DSP may assist in areas of mobility, activities of daily living, communication, cognition, health management, social networking, vocational, leisure time management, and community participation.
