This role utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct primary nursing care to patients with cardiovascular, pulmonary, or vascular health deficits, often involving unpredictable outcomes and complex multisystem care management. The nurse also assumes unit leadership roles, such as Charge Nurse, and directs and guides the use of resources for patient care.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing program, with a preference for a Bachelor's degree, and must possess an active NJ State Nursing License and BLS certification, with ACLS and PALS preferred. Required experience includes one year in cardiopulmonary nursing or two years in critical care nursing, along with specific certifications to be obtained shortly after hire.
Utilizes the nursing process to provide and direct primary nursing care to patients with cardiovascular/pulmonary/vascular health deficits, in whom outcomes may be unpredictable to perform comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention and/or evaluation of complex multisystem health care deficits; to direct the nursing care of unstable patients or patients requiring complex care management. Handles multiple demands and tasks simultaneously, demonstrating clinical problem solving skills. Is supported by the nurse manager, assistant nurse manager and charge nurse in assuming unit leadership roles including, but not limited to, serving as the Charge Nurse, committee leadership and/or involvement, conducting unit orientation and education; directs and guides the use of resources for patient care.
Graduate of accredited diploma, associate degree or baccalaureate degree nursing program required. Bachelors degree in nursing preferred. Non-BSN’s must complete a BSN degree within 5 years’ of hire.
NJ State Nursing License; BLS certification required. ACLS Certification, PALS Certification preferred.
Interpersonal, critical thinking, analytical skills and basic computer skills required.
Bi-Weekly Hours: 60 hours per pay period / Day Shift
The minimum starting rate for this position is $42.70
