About the Organisation
Life Without Barriers is a leading social purpose, not for profit organisation of 8,000 employees working in more than 500 communities across Australia. We support children, young people and families, people with disability, older people and people with mental illness. We work with people who are homeless and refugees and asylum seekers.
Empowering people with disability to live life the way they choose is at the heart of how Life Without Barriers has operated for over 25 years. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and continue this mission. Support people with disability to have the choice, control, and independence to live their best life. If you’re passionate about inclusivity, respect, and making a meaningful difference, this is the career move for you.
We want to employ people who reflect the diversity of our clients to ensure we can support each client's individual needs and wants. We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply.
You will provide personalised support to our QCSS (Queensland Community Support Scheme) clients within their homes in Logan and surrounds. You will provide supports to people with a disability, illness or mental health condition to maintain their independence and achieve their goals.
This is a Casual opportunity with working hours available between 7am to 6pm, with short shifts Monday to Friday, no evening or sleepover shifts. You will be required to travel to support multiple clients each day within Logan and surrounding local areas, including Beenleigh, so a willingness to travel is essential to this role (you will be reimbursed .99 cents per kilometre travelled while you work).
This is a great opportunity for someone that is looking to make a positive impact in their community, while developing their skills and building a career.
At Life Without Barriers we consider gender a genuine occupational qualification for this position under Section 27 (2), (c), (e) and (g) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984, and so we ask that only Female applicants apply.
Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check, QLD Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and an Aged Care Statutory Declaration.
Include your resume and covering letter in one document, click ‘Apply’ and follow the prompts. For any enquiries, please contact Rianne Gifford at recruitment@lwb.org.au
