The Peer Recovery Coach engages, inspires, and facilitates meaningful conversations to help members explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. They also provide consultation to the team to reinforce the Recovery Culture and respond to critical situations using high-level engagement and de-escalation skills.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and must obtain and maintain Peer Certification prior to hire, which includes the California Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification if applicable. A minimum of one year of experience supporting members with behavioral health challenges and successful completion of Peer Support or Peer Employment Training are also mandatory.

The Peer Recovery Coach I engages, inspires, and facilitates meaningful conversations with members served that assist the members to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals. Peer Recovery Coaches provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS) in which each member’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected, and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Recovery Coaches respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for members served experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.
Expected starting wage range is $24.59 - $29.64. $500.00 sign on bonus.
Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

The Santa Cruz County Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) is a 16-bed locked acute psychiatric inpatient program for adults aged 18+, diagnosed with serious mental illness (SMI), experiencing a mental health emergency and require intensive treatment and support.
