About the role

The technologist provides courteous and efficient patient care by performing all required radiographic examinations, which includes positioning patients, adjusting equipment factors, and processing CT films for technical quality evaluation. Responsibilities also involve maintaining equipment cleanliness, adhering to radiation safety protocols, and handling necessary patient care paperwork and logging.

Description PRN/Supp - CT Imaging Technologist

Provides courteous and efficient patient care.

Prepares for and performs all radiographic examinations by positioning patients and adjusting equipment factors for optimum exposures.

Transports, transfers and positions patients in a manner that is safe for the patient.

Processes CT films and evaluates finished radiographs for technical quality.

Maintains the cleanliness of the radiographic and associated minor equipment in accordance with infection control policies and procedures.

Performs patient care paperwork such as logging clients, releasing and tracking films, filing and retrieving reports, answering the telephone, taking messages, and all other duties pertinent to this position.

Follows protocol to ensure radiation safety, and quality assurance policies and procedures are met.

Is knowledgeable of current policies and procedures regarding hospital personnel and the Radiology Department and adheres to them appropriately.

Completes the annual mandatory training and CPR every year.

Knowledge of emergent situations, appropriate notification of Health Care Provider, and appropriate use of on-call staff.

Interviews, orients, trains, supervise, and conduct annual evaluations of staff to ensure the provision of quality services to residents.

Reports and submits employee accident/incident reports to HR as soon as possible after the occurrence of the accident/incident. Schedule Imaging Technologist required to be available for scheduled on-call. Expected Work Ethic Standards

Is able to seek out new methods and principles and is willing to incorporate them into existing practices.

Plans well in advance so that work continues with smooth transitions from one task to another.

Complies with all of OMHC and departmental policies and procedures.

Maintains confidentiality of patient, customer and co-worker information.

Represents the District in a positive and professional manner.

Is willing to work beyond normal working hours, when necessary.

Follows all safety precautions.

Keeps up to date on all mandatory annual training, and annual proficiency skills reviews.

Follows up on all problems and issues brought to his/her attention in a positive and productive manner until solved

Works productively in the absence of supervision, and makes appropriate independent decisions.

Requirements

Schedule: Imaging Technologist required to be available for 12 Hour Shifts plus scheduled On-Call shifts as applicable.

  • Required Education and Certification
  • Associates degree in Technical Science, registered with the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT), and Licensed as a CT Technologist with the State of Washington.
  • Current BLS upon hire and duration of employment Essential Functions Include But Are Not Limited To: CT Technologist
