The EEG/EMG Technician will perform both electroencephalogram (EEG) and electromyography (EMG) procedures under the direction of a neurologist or physiatrist in various settings. Responsibilities include preparing patients, applying electrodes, monitoring recordings, assisting with EMG/NCS procedures, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology program or have equivalent training, with 1–3 years of experience in EEG and/or EMG strongly preferred. Required certifications include BLS/CPR, with R. EEG T. or CNCT/R.NCS.T. certification preferred.
Perform pulmonary function tests including: Spirometry Lung volumes (plethysmography) Diffusion capacity (DLCO) Prepare and educate patients on testing procedures Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout testing Accurately document and upload results into EMR Assist providers with interpretation and reporting of test data Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot PFT equipment Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and quality standards Maintain infection control and equipment sterilization procedures PFT Techs play a key role in diagnosing conditions like asthma and COPD by measuring lung capacity, airflow, and gas exchange
