The Research Technician will perform experiments, record data, and analyze results while maintaining laboratory supplies and equipment. They will also assist in preparing presentations and written articles for publication.
Candidates should have a B.A./B.S. with significant coursework in biological or physical sciences, and experience with tissue culture and molecular biology techniques is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work as part of a team are essential.
B.A./B.S. required: significant biological/physical science coursework preferred. Experience with techniques in sterile tissue culture, molecular biology, cell biology, protein biochemistry, and/or computational biology is desirable. SKILLS / ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: High degree of computer literacy Sound analytical and organizational skills Good oral and written communication skills Logical and effective task management and prioritization skills Ability to identify potential problems and troubleshoot solutions WORKING CONDITIONS: The individual in this position will work under supervision and independently as part of the investigative team in the Belizaire Lab at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The wet lab environment will include work at the bench and in the tissue culture hood with appropriate personal protective equipment; there will also be occasional work with toxic and biohazardous substances in a fume or laminar flow hood with appropriate personal protective equipment.
