The Medical Assistant supports patient care by assisting physicians and clinicians during examinations and treatments, while also handling various administrative duties like managing phone calls and maintaining medical records. Key clinical tasks include performing vital signs, administering medications under direction, and assisting with simple procedures and patient transport.
Minimum requirements include an active American Heart Association BLS certification and proof of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or EMT program, Medical Assistant Certification, LPN license, or a Nursing Degree (ASN or BSN). Preferred qualifications include high school education, fluency in English and Spanish, 1-2 years of physician office experience, and phlebotomy skills.
