The Radiation Therapist is responsible for the accurate delivery of prescribed radiation doses to patients using specialized equipment and safety protocols. They also perform daily quality assurance checks, maintain patient records, and assist in the clinical training of students.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Radiation Therapy School and hold ARRT certification. A minimum of 6 months of clinical experience and proficiency with linear accelerators and simulators are required.
Certifications and Licensures
BLS: Basic Life Support
Within 1 month of hire or transfer ARRT RT: Reg Radiation Therapist
High School diploma or GED required (at the time of hire or transfer to position) and must be a graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy School. Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy preferred.
