The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for guiding practice based on ANA Standards and the Code of Ethics, which includes recording patient history, performing diagnostic tests, administering treatments and medications, and establishing or contributing to patient care plans. The role also involves teaching patients and families self-management skills, providing direction to other nursing staff, and precepting new hires and students.
Required education includes an Associate's degree or Diploma in Nursing, with a requirement to complete a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) within 60 months of hire unless the candidate already possesses 5 or more years of RN experience. Candidates must have over 10 months of medical-surgical or acute specialty setting experience, possess a current Arizona RN license, and hold a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
