The Certified Medical Assistant will execute delegated clinical and administrative tasks aligned with their Medical Assistant education, training, and experience. This role involves supporting both clinical and front office functions, providing clerical assistance, and aiding in healthcare delivery under the direction of a physician or provider.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and have completed an accredited Medical Assistant training program, or have equivalent experience. Required certification must be obtained from one of several approved certifying agencies, such as AAMA (CMA), AMT (RMA), or NHA (CCMA).
The Certified Medical Assistant will perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience. May work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical support, assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities at the direction of the physician/provider. Performs the duties in accordance with the specific needs of the practice.
Experience: Previous experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent, previous experience with electronic health records or phlebotomy. Licensure/ Certification: If working in the Rural Health Clinic setting, will be required to have BLS through the American Heart Association. OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
