About the role

The primary responsibilities involve performing various diagnostic cardiology or peripheral vascular exams, ensuring high-quality diagnostic cardiac and/or vascular imaging procedures are executed. This role also requires maintaining accurate documentation of results and reporting findings to physicians as directed.

  • Where You’ll Work Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Neb. At CHI Health Good Samaritan, you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility. Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be a pivotal member of our cardiac team, performing crucial diagnostic testing to accurately diagnose and guide the treatment of patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions.Every day, you will apply your independent judgment and advanced technical skills to perform state-of-the-art imaging procedures for patients presenting with conditions such as heart failure, heart rhythm disorders, and acute myocardial infarction, supporting decisions from minimally invasive interventions to major structural repairs.To be successful in this role, you must possess a solid understanding of echocardiography imaging equipment, master proper patient positioning techniques, and expertly produce and analyze high-quality cardiac ultrasound images. Above all, you will continuously strive to deliver an exceptional and positive experience to our patients and their caregivers.   • Non-imaging stress testing Corroborates clinical history and assesses patient for appropriateness of ordered procedure. Provides patient education, applies patient relations skills and maintains confidentiality of patients and customers in a safe and professional manner. Assumes responsibility for assigned area, reporting equipment malfunctions and procedure difficulties. Is responsible for completing quarterly mandatory education requirements. Assumes responsibility for personal and professional development through participation in department meetings, in-service programs, and continuing education programs. Job Requirements Required Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent clinical job training, upon hire Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo, within 12 - months or Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, within 12 - months and Registered Vascular Technologist, within 12 - months or Registered Vascular Specialist, within 12 - months and Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or possess equivalent clinical training. Required credentials include obtaining at least one registry (ARDMS or CCI) within 12 months of hire, and obtaining AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of the start date.
