The Chaplain serves as a vital spiritual leader, providing direct spiritual, religious, and existential care, compassionate presence, support, and appropriate rituals to patients, families, and staff, especially during times of crisis or grief. Responsibilities include collaborating with the healthcare team, advocating for spiritual needs, participating in palliative care processes, and responding to critical situations like Code Blues.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) with advanced study in theology or equivalent, ordination with local Diocese faculties, and completion of Clinical Pastoral Education upon hire. A minimum of one year of pastoral experience is mandatory, along with obtaining specific board certifications (APC, BCC, etc.) within 12 months.
