Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery.

RN's are responsible for providing GI nursing care of all patient populations undergoing GI procedures to include inpatient, outpatient, and those patients undergoing procedures in Radiology, ED, ICU and throughout the hospital.Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans.

You'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.

Provides care for patients undergoing a GI procedure.

Endoscopy RNs administer and maintain sedation and analgesia by order of the physician.

Assesses, diagnoses, and intervenes in the event of complications.

Monitors and assesses the patient receiving the sedation and analgesia throughout diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.

Provides on-call coverage and responds within 30 minutes of call.

Adheres to the department’s and hospital’s policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards.

Keeps abreast of trends, developments and regulatory requirements impacting matters within designated scope of responsibility.

Administers, oversees and documents the administration of medications (e.g., topically, orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously and intravenously) as ordered by the healthcare practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy.

Assesses patient to include physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental and spiritual needs.

Gathers data relevant for patient care.

Implements appropriate patient interventions and evaluates outcomes.

Plans care appropriately based on needs identified during initial and on-going assessments.

Provides holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care to patient within the scope of practice.

Implements appropriate patient interventions and evaluates outcomes.

Prepares patient for discharge and assists with coordinating post discharge needs.

Job Requirements Required: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing Endoscopy RN, has experience in endoscopy Previous GI Lab experience RN License: WA State Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 days Preferred Bachelors Of Science Nursing and One year of related work experience in an acute care setting Two years experience within the past three years in an acute care setting, i.e., Med/Surg, ICU, PCU, PACU Certified Gastroenterology RN Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute Certified Emergency Nurse

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a Registered Nurse license in Kentucky upon hire. Additional requirements include obtaining Basic Life Support - CPR certification upon hire, Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support within six months.
