The Registered Nurse in the endoscopy setting provides continuity of patient care, safety, and education through direct assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of the nursing plan of care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures. Responsibilities include overseeing patient needs, ensuring regulatory compliance, utilizing assessment skills pre, intra, and post-procedure, and responding appropriately to emergencies.
Minimum requirements include an Associate Degree as a Registered Nurse and experience in Medical-Surgical or Critical Care settings. Candidates must possess a Registered Nurse license in Indiana, Basic Life Support (AHA), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA) certifications.
