The technologist independently operates imaging equipment to produce diagnostic quality images, evaluating them and communicating findings to radiologists or medical professionals. Key duties include managing schedules, reporting equipment failures, performing quality assurance, and maintaining high medical and business ethics.
Minimum requirements include an Associate's Degree or graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited Radiography program, current certification by ARRT and the Texas Department of State Health Services, and current BLS certification. A Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences or a related health degree is preferred.
Independently operates imaging equipment to produce images that are of diagnostic quality, evaluating acquired images and communicating findings with a radiologist(s) and/or medical professional(s). In addition to obtaining high quality images, the technologist will be expected to effectively work with the USMD imaging team by managing schedules, reporting equipment failures, performing appropriate QA procedures, and practice a high level of medical and business ethics. The ideal candidate will demonstrate self-motivation to improve the level of their understanding and knowledge of the field, disease and new procedures.
Associates Degree or graduate from a Radiography program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences or other health-related degree is preferred. Current certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technology and Texas Department of State Health Services. CME compliant and BLS certified.
