The Certified Medical Assistant performs clinical and administrative duties to support physicians and healthcare providers. Responsibilities include providing clerical support and assisting in the delivery of patient care activities within the practice.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED and a certificate from an accredited medical assistant program. Current certification from an approved agency such as AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, NAHP, or AAH is required.
The Certified Medical Assistant will perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience. May work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical support, assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities at the direction of the physician/provider. The incumbent performs the duties described below in accordance with the specific needs of the practice. If working in the Rural Health Clinic setting, will be required to have BLS through the American Heart Association.
Experience: Previous experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent, previous experience with an electronic health record, phlebotomy. Licensure/ Certification: If working in the Rural Health Clinic setting, will be required to have BLS through the American Heart Association. OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
