The Gastroenterologist will manage clinical responsibilities including outpatient clinics, inpatient hospital consultations, performing endoscopic procedures, and providing nights/weekends call coverage, primarily seeing outpatients at UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital and Longmont GI clinic.
Applicants must hold an MD or DO, be Board Certified in Internal Medicine, and be Board Certified or eligible in Gastroenterology, along with holding or being eligible for a Colorado medical license and an active DEA license by the hire date. Academic rank depends on experience, with preferred qualifications including therapeutic endoscopy training and specific years of post-graduate clinical practice.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below: Academic rank will be determined during the interview process after discussion between you and the department about your previous experience and academic desires.

Therapeutic Endoscopy training (ERCP, EUS) – All ranks Instructor: Experience with Electronic Medical Records, such as Epic ACLS and BLS certification Sr.

Knowledge of the professional medical practice to give and evaluate patient care in the gastroenterology clinic. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of medicine to provide on-going patient care. Skill in taking medical history, assessing medical condition, and interpreting findings. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and their family members, medical staff, and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
