The Radiation Therapist administers radiation therapy treatments under supervision, focusing on the accurate positioning of the radiation beam to target the tumor volume and delivering the prescribed dose. Essential duties include accurately delivering and recording treatments, maintaining patient records, and assisting with administrative tasks like scheduling and billing.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited radiation therapy technology program and hold current ARRT certification and a valid state radiation therapy license. Experience requirements vary by level, with new graduates (Radiation Therapist I) being accepted, while higher levels require 3 to 5+ years of active practice.
Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program. ARRT certification required. Must hold valid state license for radiation therapy. Radiation Therapist I : requires 0-3 years experience actively practicing as an RTT. Radiation Therapist II : requires 3-5 years of experience actively practicing as an RTT. Senior Radiation Therapist : requires 5+ years of experience actively practicing as an RTT.
