The Nurse Practitioner utilizes the nursing process under physician supervision to meet patient healthcare needs, promoting teamwork and adhering to patient satisfaction principles. Essential duties include diagnosing, prescribing treatments, maintaining accurate medical records, performing various procedures, and ordering/interpreting diagnostic tests.
Candidates must have two years of nursing experience in a related field and hold a current Illinois RN license, national Nurse Practitioner certification, and required CME credits, having graduated from an approved nursing school and NP training program. Previous physician office experience is preferred.
Required Experience Two years of nursing experience in a related field Previous physician office experience preferred Ability to work in an automated environment required Required Licensure/Education Current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in the State of Illinois Certification as a nurse practitioner by a national certifying agency Current CME credits Graduate of an approved school of Nursing required Completion of an approved nurse practitioner training program Preferred Education Current CPR certification as staffing needs require Membership in MGMA desirable Employee Health Requirements Exposure/Sensory Requirements: Exposure to: Chemicals: Alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, Betadine, cleaning products. Video Display Terminals: Average Blood and Body Fluids: Performs venipuncture and non-blood specimen collection and performs finger sticks for specimen testing, but the use of universal precautions and protection reduces risk. TB or Airborne Pathogens: Minimal - if a patient is infected, it is possible that the health care worker would be exposed, but it is greatly diminished by adherence to universal precautions. Sensory requirements (speech, vision, smell, hearing, touch): Speech: Needed for presentations/training, telephone communication, facilitate meetings, patient communication.
Needed to read memos, literature, draw blood, and perform specimen handling.
Electrical/fire safety.
Needed for telephone communications, meetings, and listening to employee and patient concerns.
