The primary duties involve preparing patients for MRI procedures, providing necessary education, and skillfully operating the magnetic resonance system and associated equipment to capture desired diagnostic images. Responsibilities also include assisting radiologists with minimally invasive procedures, ensuring proper charge submission, and maintaining patient confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
Candidates must have graduated from an accredited radiologic technology school, hold certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and possess a valid Mississippi Licensure, along with demonstrated competency in performing magnetic resonance procedures. The role requires physical capability for heavy lifting, full body motion, and comfort working with diverse individuals, sometimes under stressful conditions.
· Prepares patient for procedure, providing instruction and education to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety
· Selects and operates magnetic resonance system, surface coils, physiologic gaiting devices and associated equipment to achieve desired results
· Position patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of study
· Acquires IV access on patients needing contrasted studies by way of universal precautions and utilizing phlebotomy national standards
· Assists the radiologist with certain minimally invasive procedures such as arthrograms under ultrasound guidance

Responsibilities: include, but are not limited to:
· Assists in on the job training of new employees
· Ensures charges are submitted properly and consistently with the procedure performed
· Ensures proper scheduling of patients to maximize utilization of time and equipment
· Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
· Attends annual CPR and OSHA and other appropriate training programs
· Is responsible for maintaining continued education as required for professional licensure
· Attends all staff meetings
· Performs all other tasks as assigned
Education: · A minimum of graduation from an accredited school on radiologic technology
· Graduate from a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited program in medical imaging or the equivalent
· Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
· Valid Mississippi Licensure
· Experienced in medical imaging demonstrating competency to successfully complete magnetic resonance procedures
· Additional education in sectional human anatomy
· Ability and high level of comfort in working with various people
· Performs magnetic resonance procedures subsequent to a licensed practitioner’s order
· Corroborates patient’s clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner
· Heavy Lifting up to 100 Lbs.
· Employee will have frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
