Medical Office Assistants execute both clinical and administrative tasks aligned with their Medical Assistant education, training, and experience. They function in both the clinical and front office areas of the practice, providing clerical support and assisting in the delivery of patient care activities.
A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of six months of experience using computers, Microsoft Office, and email, plus six months of clinical experience in a healthcare facility. Preferred qualifications include completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent experience as a Medical Office Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant.
Medical Office Assistants perform clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training and experience. Works in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical and assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities. The Medical Office Assistant performs duties in accordance with the specific needs of the practice.
Experience: Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent. Minimum of six months’ experience as a medical office assistant (MOA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent. Minimum of six months’ experience with an electronic health record. Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent.
